Description
Ino was once a mortal Queen of Thebes who was turned into the Sea Goddess Leucothea by Zeus after she jumped of a Cliff. In Homer's Odyssey she is one of the sources of divine aid to Odysseus. She Provides Odysseus with a veil and tells him to discard his cloak and raft, she instructs him how he can entrust himself to the waves and succeed in reaching land.
Homer refers to her as "Ino of the beautiful ankles".
